To promote some of our wonderful books, we tend to like to create extra materials–– either made in-house or by the creator themselves––like stickers, booklets, postcards, and posters. These bits of whimsy and charm are meant help build a books’ presence in the world beyond their pages. They are created to help extend the realm of the story, and they are also charming in their own right and fun to collect.
These extras! are sometimes made for booksellers, sometimes for teachers, and always for parents, grandparents, and young readers alike. While it’s true that the collectibles can, in some cases, motivate someone to purchase a particular book, we make them and support their making really to convey how much we love the books that we publish, the worlds they open, the stories they tell, and the people who make them.
